Hello and welcome to Bortom Staden (translates to "Beyond the City").
Our vision for the website is two-fold.
- We have spoken to entrepreneurs in rural areas and can see the difficulty of finding the right workforce. You may know what you need, but sometimes it can be difficult to know how to find the people you're looking for. Should you post about it on social media? Will it help? How many of those looking for work will stumble across such an "ad" for a job opportunity? We are therefore looking to help entrepreneurs find the staff they are looking for.
- A worker who finds a job needs somewhere to live - but it may be hard to find a single location/placeto look for accommodation - and many times in popular destinations there may be more availability and information about short-term accommodation. Hence our aim to also be able to offer a one-stop shop for accommodation that is only for long-term residents - perhaps for those who have just found a job through our site.
Why "Beyond the City"?
We chose the name "Beyond the City" because we have no intention for the site to be used for people looking for work in larger cities where there's already access to collected and good information - but we try to gather information for the companies that are in small towns with perhaps only a hundred to a few thousand inhabitants. We have no particular limit, but our ambition is to help in places where it is currently difficult for entrepreneurs to find employees and where it is difficult for employees (or people in general) to find accommodation.

How can we help?
As a business owner, you can advertise on our site. Each ad you place has a small cost attached to it, and you pay it monthly for as long as it remains on our site.
We charge per 30 days of advertising - so at 31 days that an ad has been out, we will invoice for a new period of 30 days.
We communicate with Municipalities, Schools, Private Organizations and Companies to help reach out to potential workers who may be willing to relocate to the place of business, and hopefully find suitable accommodation for the new worker. Our aim is to contact and 'market' our website to as many different stakeholders as possible to help companies looking for workers. This means that we work to make the contacts that will enable companies to find a new employee.
Why does it cost money to advertise?
As with most services - there are always some costs involved in working for and with something. For us, it's the time spent building the website, maintaining it, physically visiting schools to discuss our aim and what we want to help final year students with (finding a first job) and much more. The cost that we charge for an advertisement is very small and compared to a company that is helped to find a new employee - it is minimal.
How much does it cost to advertise?
The cost depends entirely on how much you want to advertise, and whether you plan to have an ad out for a short or long period of time - or if you don't really know.
In addition, we also offer a 25% discount to companies that are members of Företagarna.
PRICES
- An ad costs SEK 125 incl. VAT (SEK 100 excl. VAT for companies) per month.
- If your company is a member of Företagarna, the ad costs SEK 94 incl. VAT (SEK 75 excl. VAT) per month.
- If you want to book a 6+ month ad, you get a 10% discount on the above prices (1 change to the ad text every quarter)
- If you want to book a 12+ month ad, you get a 20% discount on the above prices (1 change to the ad text every quarter)
Who is behind 'Bortom Staden' / 'Beyond the City'?
We, behind Bortom staden, is a company called TellMeTellus AB, and we are located in Idre (Northern Dalarna) where both Peter and Emily who work with the site also actively work within Företagarna Särna-Idre-Grövelsjön. We have listened to entrepreneurs, and we acted on what we heard.
